I like watching rock band documentaries. Usually it starts with the place where the band grew up. They show nostalgic imagery of parts of the town or city where the band played their first gig. Accompanying this imagery is bits and pieces of music that are meant to evoke nostalgia, a raw taste of the band. It might be anything from a guitar riff to a slice from a fast number. The point is, this short piece of music is carefully handpicked from the band’s entire catalogue of songs. It reminds me of how some of the music streaming apps pick the accented colors from the album’s artwork and use them as color for the background. My point is, I love listening to these short clips of music. There’s something magical about them that makes it as exciting as listening to the actual track.
